DANCE ME TO THE END OF LOVE - notes of Fig, Gardenia, Lavender

$25.00

Aroma: A complex combination of sweet, green, and earthy notes

Shea butter soap bar 150g (Large Bar).

The aroma’s chosen for this soap were inspired by Leonard Cohen’s time living in the Greek island of Hydra in the 1960’s, where he bought a house and spent time writing and performing. The island is said to have inspired some of his famous works, including "Bird on the Wire". I used Fig since the fruit has a deep-rooting history and cultural significance in Greece. Gardenia as a tribute to Cohen’s girlfriend and muse who he lived with in Hydra, Marianne Ihlen, who would often place gardenias on his work desk. And Lavender due to its calming notes originating from the Mediterranean which matches the relaxing tones of Leonard’s voice. This blended trio is my tribute to Mr. Cohen.

Leonard Cohen was a celebrated Canadian poet, novelist, singer, and songwriter, known for his deep, resonant voice and introspective lyrics. Born in Montreal on September 21, 1934, he passed away on November 7, 2016, in Los Angeles. He gained prominence in the 1960s, initially as a poet and novelist, before transitioning to music. His work explored themes of love, loss, religion, politics, and personal relationships.

Poetry is just the evidence of life. If your life is burning well, poetry is just the ash.”— Leonard Cohen
